Good W/R build? and question
do you guys think that this would be a good W/R build?
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:W/R_NRA_Rage_War
It's for PvE btw.
Also, my question is how would you get 10+1 strength and 12+1+1 Hammer/axe mastery?
what would you use exactly? I mean you could put a grip on the hammer and also put a rune on the helmet but how would you get the strength attribute bonus?
Btw, I just got gw yesterday so I'm kind of a total nub at all this.

- Don't use wikia. PvX moved here.
- Don't use PvX on your first day. You won't have the skills for it, will never learn how to make a good build, and will not enjoy the game as it's meant to. Start in Prophecies and just progressing without rush is a good idea.
- Battle Rage + NRA is fine to mess around with. It's efficient enough, but not among the best options.
Oh, and welcome to GW

Ok thanks for the tip And I really enjoy the game so far, can't wait for gw2.
I tried to find a build because in other games I've played a good build is essential.
Also, I'm still wondering how you can get 10+1 in Strength and 12+1+1 in Mastery

I use it fairly often in regular hm. It's fun to have constant IMS and a little IAS too. Also, it's pretty simple to use and you can also spam SY a little. Ah, and i love to level my pets while doing regular PvE instead of the boring death levelling too.

Maybe you haven't looked for it, but in most important cities/outpost there are "Rune traders". Rune and Insignas are the 2 mods that every piece of armor can have, and most of runes are oriented to buff your attributes.
Also, the head piece of the armor set is usually linked to one of the primary prof attributes boosting it by 1.
So, to get 10+1 in Strenght you must achieve r 10 in that attribute, and then wear an armor piece with a +1 rune to Strenght, bumping it to 11.
About Axe M. instead, 12+1+1 means that you have r 12 in Axe, the +1 Axe rune and the +1 headpiece(if you use a similar setup the rune goes on the helm, so the total +2 axe is related to a single part of the armor. easier to switch armor+build setup).
P.S: in the trader window exists also +2 and +3 runes, but, expecially if you're new to the game, avoid them. And as warrior/frontline, the healt penalty(-35 and -75) from these runes is bad anyway. Tbh, i don't use them at all generally, even playing mid-back line roles.
P.P.S: welcome to GW!

Yes, good builds are essential... much later on. Don't worry about your build, seriously, just have fun and learn on your own.

Yes, it works. I've used it. But like everyone else suggest you get some level and rank in Kurzick and Sunspear first.
Leveling up especially and even after that there is one piece of Ranger gear you need and you don't even need the Ranger secondary. Always carry a no requirement needed, or met, Longbow or Flatbow.
Mine never leaves weapons slot 4. It is for pulling and for initiating combat in some cases. Especially where mobs are going to hit you with heavy conditions and hexes. In difficult areas, couple of micro shots from bow while hench or hero warrior takes initial aggro and the heavy flack from casters can let you get into the battle faster.
Note also that double clicking on a party member's name will make you run to them. Keep an eye on the health bars of your healers and casters. Don't let them go down! Double click on their health bar, run over there and "rescue" them!
GW is a delightful game. Welcome! And have fun!

Yes. Do not worry so much about the builds yet. When I started, I went around looking for good builds and ended up disappointed because I had not unlock the places that could get me the elite skill yet or to the outposts with the skill trainers to get me what I needed.
Play the game first and do your own build that best suits you at the moment and when you have enough places done up, you can look into the elite bars and build them accordingly.

Thank you but I've been reading on GW wiki and I thought it says that bonuses from runes don't stack or something? Or there an exception?
And thank you to everyone else for being helpful, I'm just playing the game for fun now but I will take all your advice

I will assume you know how to get the runes, if not you just talk to an NPC in town with Rune Trader after his name, cant miss him
After this you will see that there are runes that give +1 +2 or +3 to strength. In this case you will want a +1 strength rune.
With the axe mastery attribute again you will buy a +1 axe mastery. So far you have: Axe Mastery 12+1 Strength 10+1.
To get your 12+1+1 you need to go to an armour trader in any town and look at the headpieces. All 5 will look the same but there will be one for each attribute. You will need the one that says Axe Mastery +1 (Stacking) This means that with a rune of axe mastery you can get the extra +1
When they say that runes cant stack all they mean is that you cant put an axe mastery +1 rune on all 5 armour pieces to give you 12+1+1+1+1+1+1. You are limited to a single stack on whichever attribute your headpiece is.
Sorry if this is not clear If its not just keep asking questions until your sorted and im sure someone will answer em
PS. Welcome to GW
If you find me online in GW feel free to ask me whatever, Vallen Nightstalker is my name ingame.

If you just use it for pulling, the attributes or requirements don't matter. Just the flight time.
If he intends to use them for actual fighting (since he's a secondary Ranger) then that's a different thing. Flatbows plus "Read the Wind" can be very good (RtW equalises fire arc and speed for all types of bows, but keeps the big range of the flatbow).

In PvE the health penalty isn't such a big deal, because PvE gameplay is built around killing the mobs as fast as possible. +2 with -35 HP is quite alright and +3 with -75 HP can also be acceptable if the benefit is worth it. And you can counter with a +HP (Vigor) rune.
Of course, not all attributes are worth pumping up to 15, and sometimes they're only worth it for particular builds. Some people have alternative pieces of armor with certain runes which they swap in only when needed.
Warriors often have alternative helmets, one for each weapon, with +1 or +2, plus the inherent helmet +1. But it's a matter of preference, for example I prefer to keep it simple, got +1 Strength on helmet and +1 for the other weapons spread on the rest of the body, plus a Clarity rune (Blindness sucks). Also got 4 Sentinel's Insignia and Stonefist on the hands, FWIW.
